Biography
Shaukat Ali Chadhar is a prominent Pakistani farmer, agricultural reformer, and policy advocate, known for his progressive approach and commitment to elevating the agricultural sector in Pakistan. With a strong background in practical farming and leadership, he has become one of the most influential voices in national and international agricultural forums.
Mr. Chadhar currently serves as the National Head of the Chamber of Food and Agriculture, a leading farmer body in Pakistan. On June 1, 2023, he was elected as the Central President of the Chamber of Food and Agriculture Pakistan for a five-year term, set to conclude in 2028. He also holds the office of Central President of the Pakistan Kisan Board, further amplifying his role as a representative of the country's farming community.
Over the years, Shaukat Ali Chadhar has emerged as a strong advocate for farmer rights, modern cultivation techniques, and fair agricultural policies. His expertise in intercropping—an advanced and sustainable farming method—has earned him recognition across the agriculture sector. As a progressive grower, he continuously explores innovative practices to enhance crop productivity and soil health.
In addition to his leadership roles, Mr. Chadhar serves as the Chairman of the Sugarcane Growers Welfare Society and is a member of the Sugarcane Advisory Board, where he plays a vital role in shaping sugarcane-related policies, price mechanisms, and welfare programs for growers.
His influence extends to several key agricultural institutions. He is an active member of the Punjab Agriculture Commission, the Rice Research and Development Board in Kala Shah Kaku, and numerous national crop committees under PARC (Pakistan Agricultural Research Council) and NARC (National Agricultural Research Centre). These appointments highlight his contributions to agricultural research, policy formulation, and sectoral development.
Internationally, Shaukat Ali Chadhar has represented Pakistan at various agriculture congresses and seminars, where he shares his insights on farmer challenges, climate-smart agriculture, and food security. His participation in global dialogues underscores his commitment to aligning Pakistan’s agriculture with international best practices and innovations.
Beyond fieldwork and policymaking, he also serves as the Patron-in-Chief of “Kisan Ki Awaz”, a widely read magazine dedicated to amplifying the voices, concerns, and successes of farmers across the nation.
